In the Book of Revelation, John describes his vision of heaven as a great multitude that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people, and language. The early church was also diverse, with Hellenistic and Hebraic Jews as well as Gentiles. We at Evangel do not want to wait till heaven to worship with people of all nations and backgrounds. However, conflict is inherent when people come together with different viewpoints and needs. Pastor Travis Williams continues in the Unstoppable Wave talking about the Characteristics of the Wave, which included a level of trust in the early church that allowed them to address conflict. The Scripture text for today is Acts 6:1-7. This is a podcast of Evangel Church, Houghton Michigan, Sunday, August 5, 2018.
Good news travels quickly. In the book of Acts, Jesus’ disciples gathered and set a wave of hope that has continued to gain momentum for centuries. His message is unstoppable. And believe it or not, there are parts of this earth that still haven’t heard the Good News. But He’ll continue using His people to build His Church until everyone who seeks hope is washed over by the Unstoppable Wave of the Gospel.
