A Crazy Bucket List
Scripture References: Luke 2:22-38
From Series: "Crazy Christmas Characters"
We know the Christmas story well enough to recite it without opening our Bibles. An angel tells Mary she’s pregnant, she and Joseph travel to Bethlehem because there is a census, but there’s no room for them in the inn, so the baby Jesus is born in a stable and laid in a manger. That’s the gist of it, right?
Well, the narrative has become so familiar that we might miss the provocative, surprising, and crazy parts. The story of the first Christmas was unexpected with a cast of unusual characters, unlikely scenarios, and plot twists.
