Sitting with Uncle Cletus

Campfire Stories with Jesus

At big holiday dinners, it's humbling to sit at the kids table with "Uncle Cletus." But Uncle Cletus is wise to take a lowly position so he could be honored to be moved up, rather than take a seat of honor and be asked to move down.

Pastor Levi Matteson continues with Campfire Story with Jesus. Jesus makes a point that pride prevents, and humility provides, in his parable of inviting people to a great feast. If you know better, but think you're better, nothing will ever get better.

The Scripture text is from Luke 14:7-23. This is a podcast of Evangel Community Church, Houghton, Michigan, December 15, 2019.
