Daniel Amponsah-Berko - October 4, 2026
Redefining Prayer
Mr. Daniel Amponsah-Berko talks about how prayer is more than asking God for what we need. It is an invitation to know Him, encounter His presence, and be transformed by Him. Through prayer, God strengthens us to resist temptation, refines us to become more like Christ, guides us in His purposes, and meets us in our places of need. Sermon outline:1) Prayer creates a platform to fellowship and commune with God, ushering us deeper into His presence (Psalm 36:9; Isaiah 40:31; Exodus 34:29-33),2) Prayer empowers the believer to live above sin,3) Prayer creates a platform to encounter the refining power of God,4) Prayer creates a platform to partner with God to birth the purposes and will of God,5) Prayer helps the believer to access the voice of God (Psalm 32:8; I Samuel 30:8; Isaiah 30:21), and6) Prayer is the authorized channel to call on God for help (James 5:13).This episode of the Evangel Houghton podcast is a Sunday message from Evangel Community Church, Houghton, Michigan, October 4, 2026.
