Many picture evil as dark, loud, and easy to spot. However, Satan isn’t always most effective in obvious darkness, but rather in counterfeit light — something that looks real enough to fool you: half-truths, self-righteousness, compassion without holiness, "freedom" that's bondage to sin, and spirituality apart from Christ. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” (Eph. 6:10–11)
